Quick answer: for a first visit, 3–5 days is the sweet spot for a private guide. Pricing depends on group size, days, vehicle and tickets. Book two to four weeks ahead where possible.

Choosing a tour and pricing

How do I choose a Singapore tour agency?

Check three things: whether the team is based in Singapore, whether they provide a clear itinerary and itemised quote, and whether they include shopping stops. A good team will ask about your group before recommending a package.

How much does a private Singapore tour guide cost?

There is no single rate. It depends on group size, number of days, vehicle, tickets and meals. Send us the brief and we will provide an itemised quote with inclusions and exclusions.

What is the difference between a private guide and a chauffeur?

A chauffeur mainly handles the vehicle and point-to-point transport. A guide handles commentary, route and on-the-ground communication. You can book either, or both together. With children or older parents, we usually recommend both.

How far in advance should I book?

Two to four weeks is comfortable; earlier for school holidays and peak dates. Last-minute requests are possible, but vehicle and guide availability may be limited.

Itineraries and experiences

How many days do I need in Singapore?

Three days covers Marina Bay, Chinatown and Sentosa. Four days suits families. Five days adds the Botanic Gardens, Katong/Joo Chiat, Kampong Glam and Tiong Bahru.

How many attractions can we visit in one day?

Two to four main stops is realistic. The city is compact, but walking, queues, meals and transfers take time; a packed day usually feels worse.

What happens if it rains?

Afternoon showers are common. Your guide can reorder the day and move indoor stops into the wet window. Keep one indoor backup each day.

Can I book a car without a guide?

Yes. Car with driver only, guide using public transport, or both — all can be combined to suit your budget and group.

Practical questions

Can the guide help with tickets?

Yes, we can help purchase tickets or remind you which attractions need advance reservations. Tickets are usually quoted separately and listed clearly.

Do we need to tip in Singapore?

Usually not. Restaurant bills may include a service charge. Tipping a guide or driver is optional and appreciated, never expected.
